I wish I could remember all of the great quotes I come across in listening and reading.I could be seen as much cleverer than I actually am. The wise me writes them down–or at least flags  them–to stumble across later, It's like finding $5 in your pocket that you didn't realize you had.

So I just stumbled across these three in my journal ($15 worth), which come from a wise woman named Macrina Wiedekehr:

"Although I am a morning person, I am not necessarily a communal morning person." Exactly. I love being up at 5:00 AM to read, write, exercise, post to my blog, think, meditate. But I'd really like to be up at 5:00 by myself. That's precious, personal, soul-expanding time for me.

On the flip side: "Not everyone wakes up good to go." Well, I guess that applies to me as well, since I wake up good to go solo, and it takes me a while to be good to go with company. But more importantly, it's helpful for me to realize the importance of giving people space to start engaging first thing in the morning.

And finally: "Not everyone live's on my heart's schedule." Sometimes I assume they do, and that's unfair to them and to me, because it sets up expectations that they (and I) are not prepared to meet.
