Yesterday morning, five of the eight people with whom I work were told that their positions were being eliminated. Two will be gone by the end of the year, the other three at the end of March. All were then asked to take the remainder of the day off.

An hour or so later, one of them (a good friend as well as a colleague) sent me this remarkable text message:

"This is god talking to us. Listen…"
