The 60-Second Sabbath

Blankness

I start a new journal…devoid of all words…nothing but gloriously empty lines.

What if I just left it blank? To borrow the words of poet Billy Collins, what if I stopped "running my mouth"? What if I stopped "leaning on the horn of my ego"?

Could I instead let the emptiness of the pages proclaim the truth? Could I leave the lines to fill themselves with the presence of the divine? Wouldn't that blankness be a better summary of what I truly, ultimately know? or seek? or am? or am becoming?
