My friend Jim recently commented on a post of mine, decrying the use of labels. I think his response was justified. Labeling sustains separations that ultimately are illusory. In God, we become one. (Jim will occasionally refer to God as Unity.) In the divine, divisions disolve.
Sister (as in Catholic nun), author and teacher Meg Funk said, in a talk I attended, "We are not one, but we are not two, and there's no need to figure it out." I'm tempted to elaborate on the first part of Sister Meg's statement ("…not one, but not two…"), but that would be avoiding her additional, more-challenging wisdom, "…and there's no need to figure it out." So I won't.
