New year; new design. I began blogging on August 31, 2009, with the hope of posting both text and a photo every day. So far, I've accomplished that, and I'm grateful. It's been four months of sacred play.

I'm grateful that technology provides the opportunity for such a thing. Who could have imagined it ten years ago?

I'm even more grateful for every visit. Those of you who respond: your comments nourish me as much as my writing and photography.

It's about growth. What I post reveals my growing edge, the places where I'm being challenged, led, fed and opened. Edges aren't always comfortable; some are sharp; some border unknown lands; some demand risk and courage; some send me several steps backwards into safety and familiarity. But these edges offer the chance to discover something bigger and better–expansion, humility, awareness, ambiguity, wonder…all those core words.

2011? Who the heck knows. It's one, big, naked calendar, filled with empty boxes ripe for both disaster and surprise, love and release, acts of bravery and acts of cowardice, of selfishness and of compassion. Many of those boxes will catch us off guard, imposing events on us. But many…many…will be the result of choices made by us.

So be of good cheer! Whatever 2011 brings you, you don't face it alone. Be more open to allowing friends, family and God to support you. Reach deep inside to find the resources with which you have, in fact, already been gifted; there's more to discover.
