Let's open the valve
at the bottom of every human heart
and drain the sludge
that reeks of fear.

Let's rinse those hearts
with sacred solvent
(God's sweat, Allah's tears, Buddha's laughter),
then fill each heart to its gilded rim
with the champagne of compassion–
crystalline, effervescent and giddying.

So many things we will no longer need:
    defense spending
    border patrols
    denominations
    economists
    politicians
    poets
