Our rules and regulations
don't flow like pure water
from the tap of sacred scripture,
but percolate
through the filter and grounds
of our sometimes appalling
private reality.

Why not exchange
our daily cup
of shoulds and nots
for a few measured moments
drinking deeply of
the crystalline spring
of Agua Eterna?
