A choice today:
ally yourself with hope
or with despair.

On the back stoop of your life
wait two buckets–
one filled with cat crap
scooped from your heart's litter box,
and the other filled with milk and cream
fresh-squeezed from the aching udders of God.

Why smear yourself
and those you love
with the former
when you could be baking and sharing
hot muffins and churned butter
made from the sweet, sweet squeezin's
of El Shaddai, the nurturing breasts of the divine?
