I am dreaming,
but the reality of life
tendrils through it:
In an open, echoing sanctuary,
a handful of us plan an upcoming service,
but my unorthodox beliefs
and unconventional practices
aren't the right fit
for the expected worshipers.
They ask me to leave.
I go without resentment–
disappointed, yes–
but knowing they are right.
Where, then, is my voice needed?
