Somewhere in the woods
a wounded child wanders.
His survival depends
on your kindness and compassion.
Can you find him in time?
He's a good child,
a boy whose heart has great capacity
for joy and trust,
for delight and laughter,
but now he hides in fear,
off the path,
bleeding and weak.
He needs you. Seek him.
When you find him,
he may be too dazed to speak,
but he will know you,
and his arms will reach for you.
Hold him. Carry him.
You must show him
that he is a lovable and worthy child.
Held by you,
he will look into the mirror of your love
and understand his beauty.
Your gentle hands
will clean and bandage his wounds.
Only you can heal him.
Somewhere in the woods
a wounded child waits.
Your survival depends
on your kindness, your compassion.
