Shut people out.
Convince ourselves it's us vs. them.
Imagine we are under attack.
Inflame our mutual paranoia.
Entertain no viewpoint but our own.

Hey,
not quite the kingdom Jesus imagined for us,
but our fearful superiority
will just have to substitute.
