Christ holds all things in unity.

This,
    for me–
        at this moment–
            is the central tenet of my faith.

Throughout my life,
    I have embraced several such statements
        (sometimes direct scripture quotes),
            each capturing,
                at that point in my life,
                    what I understood to be
                        the Bible's key message.

If I listed all these statements,
    I would see them in cordial agreement;
        each is true,
            each was appropriate    
                for that moment in my life;
                    each is another piece
                        of a remarkable puzzle.

These key messages change over time
    because I change over time.
        By God's grace,
            I am ever evolving,
                ever ready to hear something new
                    and timely.

But this is the one I now believe
    best fits biblical revelation
        and my current life experience:

    Christ holds all things in unity.

All things were/are created in Christ.
    All will be reconciled in and through Christ.

    Christ holds all things in unity.

God's Word is alive, dynamic…
    and deeply personal.

The ink and paper of your printed Bible
    become the Word of God
        as they flow into, around, and through you…
            YOU…
                me.

The "key message"
    is the one you need
        at any given moment in your life,
            the one God brings alive in you.

    God is love.
                            Be still and know I am God.
    All are welcome.
                            Justice, kindness, and humility.
    Forgiveness and reconciliation.

    Christ holds all things in unity.

What is God's key message for you
    at this moment in life?

Say it,
    breathe it,
       sing it,
            chant it,
                embrace it,
                    celebrate it,
                        live it!
