Your thoughts
chatter like a monkey.
You are not the monkey.
You are the
magnificent,
stately,
ancient tree,
reaching to the clouds,
rooted in the earth,
offering shade,
silent,
strong
and wise,
through whose branches
races the monkey.
Shrug your massive branches,
and let the monkey fall to the forest floor.
He is not hurt,
just offended.
For a while, at least,
love the Stillness
you are.
